Claire's Field Trip

Claire and her class went to the Environmental Nature Center in Newport Beach to learn about, what else?, nature! Claire was so excited to ride on the big bus for the first time. When they got there, they played the "worm game" where they pretended to be birds and dig in dirt for plastic worms. They went for a walk through tall grass. Claire got to be the big helper when they talked about butterflies.

Living Pictures

Our family got to be part of an amazing ministry put on by our church each year. Close to 200 members of the chuch were involved in putting together 15 scenes depicting the life of Christ. We did 4 shows for around 700 people! Here Emily and Jenn are attending the bride at Cana where Jesus turned water into wine. Hopefully we will get some more pictures of John as Joseph and Claire as an angel leading the Palm Sunday procession. It was hard work and lots of hours but as we were cleaning up after the last show, the girls were already talking about next year. I think they were hooked!

Manners Tea

When we booked a manners tea at the Centennial Museum we had no idea that we would be taking the girls to the same place many of them had just been for their school field trip. Not to worry, they were thrilled to go again and see some new and some of the same things. They made calling cards. They each got to pick a dress to wear to their tea party. We learned lots about what good manners are and got to practice them too.

Emily's Field Trip

Emily and her class visited the Kellogg House in Santa Ana to learn about Orange County 100 years ago. She really liked the dress up part especially when they learned about the fainting couches for the poor ladies who wore their corsettes too tight. They also got to scrub on a wash board, watch a blacksmith work and eat lunch on the grounds. They had a great day and "only 30 minutes at school today!"

Happy Birthday Emily!

Emily brought ice cream for her class as a treat on her birthday. They loved sitting on the grass outside their classroom on a Friday afternoon and relaxing together.
Emily chose to go to Medieval Times with her friends R and N this year instead of a traditional party. It was so much fun! The girls made their princess crowns, wands and tulle draping at home before we went. We were assigned to the red and yellow knight's cheering section. Try as we might, our cheering did not lead him to victory. But we ate with our hands, got to see leaping horses and several beautiful princesses so it was a "knight to remember."

Our New House

Claire and Sierra helped to keep things organized as they got put onto the big truck on their way to the new house. It was an incredibly smooth move because of all the help we had. We feel so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family!
Day 1 at the new house.
Our swingset now lives in front yard, but here is what the house looked like just before we moved in. We weren't really looking per say but when the right house became available at the right time we couldn't resist! We love all the extra space upstairs and love walking to school each day. We'll post more pictures when the inside looks more settled.
